Museum participating in Connect to a Cause on Sept. 16

The Spirit of 76 Museum is participating in Connect to a Cause, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Lorain County, on Thursday, Sept. 16. This event is a coordinated 12-hour fundraising event in celebration of the foundation’s 40th anniversary, and aims to rally communities to support over 50 local non-profit organizations.

The event features a bonus: the Community Foundation Board of Directors committed an additional $40,000 to be distributed among the participating organizations based on the amount raised, split as such:

  • $10,000 to the organization that raises the most money during the 12-hour period
  • $10,000 to the organization with the highest number of individual donors during that time
  • $20,000 to the remaining participating agencies based on a prorated share of overall donations received.

As a non-profit organization, the Southern Lorain County Historical Society is committed to educate, preserve, protect, archive, maintain and share the history of southern Lorain County. Your online donation in any amount, made to Southern Lorain County Historical Society next Thursday, September 17, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. will go farther, thanks to incentives provided by the Community Foundation of Lorain County. Please consider donating at www.peoplewhocare.org, under the “Donate” tab, on Sept. 17th and thank you in advance for your support.
